WIP Wednesday

School starts in a mere 20 days (and I go back even sooner!).  Needing a project to keep my hands busy while sitting around watching tv, I decided to keep my tradition alive.  Which tradition?  The one where I make a new pillow cover for my library chair each year.

Since I have so many beautiful rainbow scraps, thanks to the Bottled Rainbows quilt, I thought that nothing could be more perfect than a mini-rainbow!

This pic was taken a few days ago, and progress is moving along nicely!  I'm thinking of backing it in Amy Butler's red lotus flowers, but here's where I need your help!  What color should I bind it in???  I really have no idea.

    Hi Jenny, I absolutely LOVE these rainbow hexes! Really, I think you could bind it with any of the colors...your favorite?

    I love the hexagons!! I think it would be cute with a rainbow striped binding...just my 2 cents :o)

    That is going to be a fabulous pillow! For the binding I would probably go with yellow or green, but that is almost always my choice. Use your favorite, I don't really think there is a wrong choice here. You could also go with black/white, too. Not much help, eh?

    Ack! So pretty!! I have a thing for all things color wheelish! How about these on white with hand-stitching and another row of hexagons near the opening? Either way I am looking forward to you finishing it beautifully!

    I love this! SO cute. I agree with Shanna that a rainbow stripe would be really cool. I used the rainbow stripe from Ann Kelle's Remix line for my Bottled Rainbows quilt, and it's really fun. Or you could go with black, and that would frame everything nicely.

    I really love this! Those hexies are super cute. I think you should bind it kona coal -- although a rainbow stripe would also look great.

    I really love this too! Those colours look beautiful together. I would also go for a black border - I think it always makes the colours really pop out even more.

    Thank you all SO much for your kind comments! I have some Kona charcoal, medium gray, and some dark purple (I forget which one), and am toying with the idea of each. I guess I will have to audition them when the pillow cover is almost done!

    Love those pretty rainbow-y hexies! I think they'd be happy bound in grey. Or for more of a punch some black - solid.
